You can find the minutes at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1S2LDJrjLj1daaPcdBZOf6Psg2FgBYhgGW9WYpxz0mnI/edit#heading=h.nx0o5va1dmyi INTRODUCTION AND WELCOME Executive board: PRESIDENT: Julie Paur - [email protected] VICE PRESIDENT: Tori Endermuhle - [email protected] TREASURER: Paula Buchanan - [email protected]  SECRETARY: Stephanie Harrigan - [email protected] COMMUNICATIONS: April Dzubic - [email protected]  FUNDRAISING: Kelly Backer - [email protected]  SCHOOL EVENTS: Ellen Smith - [email protected] TEACHER REP: Julie McNamera - [email protected]  Went to break out rooms for quick socializing and introductions COMMITTEE REPORTS School Events (Ellen) Monthly themes-September theme is apples.  Post pictures of apple picking, recipes, etc.  October is Halloween related.  Costume contest-post pictures to Facebook.  Person with the most likes gets a prize.  Also have a house decorating event with hidden Bear in your decor.  Will run from Oct 26-31 and everyone who signs up will be added to the map to be distributed to Rogers families.   Fundraising (Kelly) Krispy Kremes- Selling digital dozens.  Sell for $10 with 50% profit.  Flyers are coming the end of September Other ideas: Discussed Poinsettias and a mask fundraiser.  Suggestion from the chat to look into an apex run Treasurer Report (Paula) We have a trivia sponsor Gave money to teachers for start up funds Landscaping  Conservative budget this year, short fall of 13K due to less income than normal (due to COVID).   Grants approved- bottle filler and kindergarten bins Parent are encouraged to pay for events/fundraising items through Venmo Communications update (April) check out Rogers RPO webpage.  It has been updated and has lots of information.   NEW BUSINESS Ideas for topics/speakers for meetings.  Ideas include mental health or social/emotional health, bullying.  Dr. Keenoy said that Ms. St. Louis would be able to come to a meeting or we could have Chad Dickemper back.  We could do a grade level presentation/share out from teachers.  If others have ideas, email Julie Paur. Trivia Night:  We need a chair for Trivia Night.  Ashley Newsome says she will co-chair but needs help.  Maria Patengill volunteered to help as well.  Need to use judgement to ask for donations-many businesses, especially restaurants, are struggling.   Theme ideas- play on COVID, favorite SNL skits, Board games, College Sports, NIght at the Races, Kentucky Derby, Jungle, Prom.  April suggested we could put a poll on Facebook pages.   DR. KEENOY UPDATE Water fountains are turned off.  Water bottle fillers have arrived and should be installed soon.   We are looking for donations.  In particular our school needs small bottles of hand soap due to increased hand washing.  We have 9 classrooms that will have in person students starting next Tuesday.   K-2 kids are coming back next week.  Shout out to several teachers who were a part of the Rogers Safety Plan.  Dr. Keenoy is confident with the plan and is looking forward to having them back.   In blended model kids will have specials in person but not on home days.  Home days (except for Mondays) will not include live instruction.   Question about lunch pickup.  You will now need to go to Oakville Middle School for pickup since Rogers will have kids at school and at recess when that would normally occur.  Bus service (meal delivery) will no longer be an option.   Mehlville with have a COVID dashboard which will break down cases by schools Open Forum for sharing about virtual learning successes and challenges Parents have been very impressed with teachers and their patience with the kids Kids are doing better than expected, still say that in person is better.
