Greetings from Rogers Elementary School and welcome to our website!

At Rogers we recently took part in  ‘Read Across America’ Week. During this week, we take time to celebrate the joys of reading and the wonderful possibilities that books bring to us. I spent some time in our library the other day and it was great to see so many kids coming into the library to check out books, ask the librarian about books and share with their friends book recommendations. Thank you, parents and caregivers for modeling the importance of reading and sharing your love of reading with your child(ren).

Earlier this semester, I introduced our new vision statement - ‘Success for each person in the Rogers Community.’ Today, I would like to share with you our new mission statement - ‘To provide an inclusive environment where all members of the Rogers Community are nurtured to be empowered life-long learners.’ There is a lot to break down in our mission statement, but for today, I would like to focus on the word ‘inclusive.’ At Rogers we are a community dedicated to being a welcoming place where everyone feels safe and respected. It is in this environment of inclusivity that our community will learn and grow together and thus another reason why we are OneRogers!

For our families and guests, while on our webpage I encourage you to follow the links found throughout our site where you can find such things as the lunch menu for the month and information about our school. We are constantly working to upgrade our site to provide you with information. If you ever have any suggestions as to what you would like to see on our site, please let me know.

At Rogers, there are many points of pride at our school. One of the key points of pride and a crucial ingredient to our success is the great community we have at Rogers. Our students are fantastic, our teachers and staff are awesome, and we have a committed group of parents who are extremely generous in their support of our school.

At Rogers, all of us give our best effort each day to help every student learn at high-levels, develop appropriate social skills, and discover the value of hard-work, perseverance and a “can do” attitude.

In addition to promoting academic success, creativity, and critical thinking, we believe that a quality education extends to teaching and modeling the values of honesty, determination, integrity, persistence, perseverance, trustworthiness, and respect. Our success in achieving these goals has earned Rogers recognition as both a Missouri School of Character and a National School of Character.

It has been written that “public education is the greatest pathway to opportunity in America.” Each day we come together as a team to prepare our future leaders. We empower our students by implementing knowledge and skills that nurture the roles each will play in making our world a better place.
