Greetings from Rogers Elementary School!

On behalf of the students, faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to the Rogers Elementary School website.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend my Coffee with the Principal gathering this past Wednesday. I was so pleased that so many people attended and I am truly grateful for Sgt. Schmoll and Officer Sam for speaking to the group. We will definitely have to have more Coffee with the Principal gatherings, and once I set the date I will let you know. If you have any suggestions for guest speakers, please let me know.

As a reminder, we do have our first parent organization (RPO) meeting this evening at 7 PM in the library. I do encourage you to attend and involve yourself in our school community.

This upcoming weekend, I will be celebrating the birthday of my mum. I will be going out to eat on Friday night with my mum, dad, wife, son, sisters, etc. On Saturday night I’m running in a 5k in Eureka MO. It starts at 7 PM and I will be running the race with some of my principal colleagues.

At Rogers, there are many points of pride at our school. One of the key points of pride and a crucial ingredient to our success is the great community we have at Rogers. Our scholars are fantastic, our teachers and staff are awesome, and we have a committed group of parents who are extremely generous in their support of our school.

At Rogers, all of us give our best effort each day to help every scholar learn at high-levels, develop appropriate social skills, and discover the value of hard-work, perseverance and a “can do” attitude. Furthermore, at Rogers, we are being very intentional about making sure that each member of our school community feels a sense of belonging. A child that has a positive sense of belonging at school will feel free to take risks in their learning which will ultimately lead to academic success. At Rogers, I want to make sure that we are opening doors to opportunities for all our children.

In addition to promoting academic success, creativity, and critical thinking, we believe that a quality education extends to teaching and modeling the values of honesty, determination, integrity, persistence, perseverance, trustworthiness, and respect.

Beyond our school goals, students are provided with many opportunities to excel outside of the classroom. We have a chess team, crochet club, character club, STEM club, student leadership team, running team, and bell choir.

It has been written that “public education is the greatest pathway to opportunity in America.” Each day we come together as a team to prepare our future leaders. We empower our students by implementing knowledge and skills that nurture the roles each will play in making our world a better place.
