Greetings from Rogers Elementary School!

On behalf of the students, faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to the Rogers Elementary School website.

Thank you RPO for hosting such a great meeting on Wednesday night. It was wonderful seeing so many families attending either virtually or in-person, and I am always inspired by the great work done by our parent organization. At the meeting, I spoke about the contact tracing process used at Rogers when there is a case of COVID-19.

Over this past week, we have seen a rise in the number of Covid cases on our campus. Below, I’ve included  a copy of the COVID-19 Screening and Wellness Checklist that I ask that you use each morning prior to sending your student to school.

COVID-19 Screening and Wellness Checklist

For the safety of our school community, if you answer YES to any of these questions, please contact your school principal to determine if you can come on campus. Staff should contact their supervisor.

Do you have or have you recently had any of the following?

  1. A fever 100.4 or higher, chills or repeated shaking with chills
  2. A cough that cannot be attributed to another health condition
  3. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing that cannot be attributed to another health condition
  4. A loss of the sense of smell or taste
  5. Muscle aches or pains (myalgias) or general fatigue that cannot be attributed to another health condition or activity
  6. A sore throat that cannot be attributed to another health condition
  7. Congestion or runny nose that cannot be attributed to another health condition
  8. A headache that cannot be attributed to another health condition
  9. Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
  10. Close contact in the past 10 days with a person who has a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19

These screening questions are based on a review of screening protocols from multiple health agencies. Updated August 2021.

I do appreciate all your help and support as we continue to move forward in our work to make our school vision (Success for each person in the Rogers Community!) a reality.

While on our webpage I encourage you to follow the links found throughout our site where you can find such things as the lunch menu for the month and information about our school. Additionally, we have a collection of videos about our wonderful staff members that are truly worth watching. We are constantly working to upgrade our site to provide you with information. If you ever have any suggestions as to what you would like to see on our site, please let me know.

At Rogers, there are many points of pride at our school. One of the key points of pride and a crucial ingredient to our success is the great community we have at Rogers. Our students are fantastic, our teachers and staff are awesome, and we have a committed group of parents who are extremely generous in their support of our school.

At Rogers, all of us give our best effort each day to help every student learn at high-levels, develop appropriate social skills, and discover the value of hard-work, perseverance and a “can do” attitude.

In addition to promoting academic success, creativity, and critical thinking, we believe that a quality education extends to teaching and modeling the values of honesty, determination, integrity, persistence, perseverance, trustworthiness, and respect. Our success in achieving these goals has earned Rogers recognition as both a Missouri School of Character and a National School of Character.

Beyond our school goals, students are provided with many opportunities to excel outside of the classroom. We have a chess team, crochet club, character club, STEM club, student leadership team, running team, and bell choir.

It has been written that “public education is the greatest pathway to opportunity in America.” Each day we come together as a team to prepare our future leaders. We empower our students by implementing knowledge and skills that nurture the roles each will play in making our world a better place.
